EUBOIA. Chalkis. Circa 338-308 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 3.68 g, 11 h). Head of the nymph Chalkis to right, wearing triple-pendant earring and necklace, her hair rolled at the sides and back. Rev. XAΛ (retrograde) Eagle flying to right with open wings, devouring snake held in its talons; to right, kerykeion. BCD Euboia 179. HGC 4, 1464. Picard Em. 30, dies 15/w (?). A lovely example, with all details clear, and with light iridescent toning. Extremely fine.
