ATTICA. Athens. Circa 470-467 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 17.09 g, 6 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with three olive leaves and a palmette, a round earring and a pearl necklace. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing to right, head facing; behind, olive spray and crescent moon; all within incuse square. SNG Lockett 1837. Starr Group IV, 131, 133-135 var. Svoronos -. An attractively toned piece of excellent style and with an unusually full helmet crest. Some very minor die breaks and striking faults, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
