ATTICA. Athens. 135/4 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32.5 mm, 16.77 g, 12 h), New style, struck under the magistrates Menedemos, Epigenes and Theophrastos. Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing a triple-crested Attic helmet, adorned with Pegasos and a long tendril on the bowl, and with four horse protomes on the visor and a serpent on the raised ear guard, and a pendant earring . Rev. Α-ΘΕ /ΜΕ-ΝΕΔ / ΕΠΙ / ΓΕΝΟ / ΘΕΟΦΡ Owl standing facing on amphora; to left, Asklepios standing to left; on amphora, [Α] ; below amphora, ΓΛ (= contractor's initials). Thompson 347.
