MYSIA. Kyzikos. Circa 350 BC. Stater (Electrum, 20 mm, 15.92 g). Bearded horseman (very probably Philip II of Macedon), wearing a kausia, chlamys and riding boots, riding a horse galloping to right; he holds the reins in his right hand and turns the horse's head slightly to his right; on the horse's back, leopard's skin saddle cloth; below the horse's back legs, tunny fish swimming to right. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Boston Supplement 151. SNG France 315. Von Fritze 168. Extremely rare. Clear and attractive - lightly toned. Struck on a slightly tight flan, otherwise, very fine.
