TROAS. Skepsis. Circa 450-400 BC. Triobol (Silver, 12 mm, 2.09 g, 9 h). Σ-ΚΗ-ΨΙΟΝ Forepart of galloping horse to right. Rev. Fir tree within linear and pelleted border, all within shallow incuse square. SNG Copenhagen -. Cf. SNG Tübingen 323 (diobol). Cf. SNG von Aulock 7643 (drachm). Rare, and attractively toned. With a reverse reminiscent of Near Eastern - Phoenician - motifs of the previous millenium. Good very fine.
