IONIA. Kolophon. Circa 530/25-500 BC. 1/6 Stater (Silver, 10.5 mm, 1.65 g). Archaic male head to left, probably Apollo, with an almond-shaped eye and a large circular earring. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Unpublished, but cf. Kim & Kroll 1 (1/12 stater). SNG Kayhan 342 var. (hemiobol). Extremely rare, if not unique. Well-struck, toned, and with an Archaic head of no little power. Minor marks and some roughness, otherwise, extremely fine.
