ISLANDS OFF CARIA, Kos. Circa 285-258 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 14.09 g, 6 h), struck by the magistrate Knosidikos. Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. Κ-ΩΙΟ-Ν / ΚΝΩΣΙΔΙΚΟΣ Crab; below, bow in bow case (gorytos); around, square of pellets within a shallow incuse square. BMC 41A (same dies). BMFA 2022 (same dies). Requier 2 (D1/R2). Sharply struck and attractively toned. Struck on a slightly tight flan, otherwise, extremely fine.
