PERSIA, Achaemenid Empire. Sardes. Time of Xerxes II to Artaxerxes II, circa 420-375 BC. Daric (Gold, 16.5 mm, 8.36 g). Persian king in the running-kneeling stance to right, quiver at his shoulder, holding transverse spear in his right hand and bow in his left. Rev. Rectangular incuse punch. BMC Arabia pl. XXV, 12. Carradice Type IIIb C (pl. XIV, 42). Well-centered and well-struck. Some die rust, especially on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
