KINGS OF ARMENIA MINOR. Mithradates, Satrap, 180s-170s BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 14 mm, 1.79 g, 3 h). Draped bust of Mithradates to right, wearing bashlyk tied with diadem. Rev. Griffin springing to left. ACV -. Kovacs -. Leu Winterthur 7 (2020) 1344 var. (bust to left). Apparently unpublished and unique with the right-facing bust. A surprisingly attractive and unusual coin, especially with the powerful griffin, symbol of the steppes. Crudely made as usual, otherwise, very fine.
