Maximinus I, 235-238. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 31 mm, 19.34 g, 12 h), Rome, 236. IMP MAXIMINVS PIVS AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Maximinus to right, seen from behind. Rev. PAX AVGVSTI / S - C Pax standing left, holding olive branch in right hand and transverse scepter in left. BMC 72. Cohen 34. MIR 10-5/C, p. 80 and pl. 7. RIC 58. With a remarkably attractive portrait, struck in high relief and with a beautiful deep brown toning. Two very minor striking cracks, otherwise, good extremely fine.
