Aelia Eudoxia, Augusta, 400-404. Solidus (Gold, 20.5 mm, 4.50 g, 6 h), Constantinople, Δ = 4th officina, c. 402-403. AEL EVDOXIA AVG Diademed and draped bust of Eudoxia to right, her hair richly ornamented with jewels; above, Manus Dei with crown. Rev. SALVS REIPVBLICAE / Δ /CONOB Victory seated right on cuirass, inscribing a Christogram on a shield set on short column. Depeyrot 55/5. RIC 14. Very rare; well-centered, lightly toned and most attractive. Some almost imperceptible marks, otherwise, extremely fine.
