SICILY. Segesta. Circa 412/0-400 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 8.61 g, 3 h). ΣEΓEΣΤΑΙΟΝ (retrograde and partially inverted) Hound standing to right, with three grain ears in the background. Rev. Head of the nymph Segesta to right, with her hair tied in sakkos. BMFA 314-315 (same dies). Hurter 195 (V61/R110). Jameson 710 (same dies. Rizzo pl. 62, 11 (same dies). SNG ANS 644 (same dies). SNG Lloyd 1187 (same dies). SNG Oxford 1878 (same dies). Beautifully preserved with a lovely dark patina. Extremely fine.
