THRACE. Abdera. Circa 411/0-386/5 BC. Drachm (Silver, 15.5 mm, 2.92 g, 1 h), struck under the magistrate Nymphagores. ΑΒΔΗ Griffin crouching to left, both forepaws raised, about to spring. Rev. ΕΠΙ ΝΥΜ-ΦΑΓ-ΟΡΕΩ Dolphin leaping downward to left in pelleted square frame within shallow incuse ssquare. May, Abdera, Group CIX, 380 and 388-390 var. (A274/P314, die combination not recorded). SNG Copenhagen 335 (same obverse die). Magnificently toned and a truly impressive little gem. Good extremely fine.
