KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos, 305-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27.5 mm, 16.98 g, 12 h), struck posthumously, at an uncertain mint, but possibly Byzantion, c. 260. Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ Athena seated to left on throne, leaning her left elbow on her shield and holding Nike, crowning the king's name, in her right; behind, transverse spear with point below; in the exergue, Ζ?. Sharply struck, very attractively toned and with a restrainedly florid Hellenistic-style head of Alexander. About extremely fine.
