BOLIVIA. Cob 4 Reales, 1653-P. Potosi Mint, Assayer Antonia de Ergueta (E). Philip IV. PCGS VF-35.
KM-18; Cal-1116. Weight: 17.78 gms. Variety with retrograde "4". This pleasing survivor offers abundant detail and attractive surfaces. The obverse displays both mintmarks, a retrograde denomination, and both dates with pleasing clarity. The reverse is flat in some areas, but the mintmark, assayer's initial, and three-digit date are decipherable. The outer legend shows part of the monarch's name and ordinal. A generously detailed and appealing piece, only faulted by a slightly misshapen flan. Nonetheless, easily among the more attractive examples of the type.
