BOLIVIA. Cob 4 Reales, 1655-P. Potosi Mint, Assayer Antonia de Ergueta (E). Philip IV. PCGS EF-40.
KM-18; Cal-1118. Weight: 13.55 gms. A compact but well-preserved Cob. Features two denominations, two dates (one partial), two assayer's initials, and three mintmarks. While almost none of the outer legends fit onto the planchet, the central devices on both sides are satisfyingly detailed and sharp. The surfaces show some minor corrosion but are otherwise attractively toned with some shining luster. A nicely round and appealing piece despite its shortcomings.
