BOLIVIA. Cob 4 Reales, 1656-P. Potosi Mint, Assayer Antonia de Ergueta (E). Philip IV. PCGS Genuine--Salt Water Damage, VF Details.
cf. KM-18; Cal-1123. Weight: 14.45 gms. Variety with no "PH" between pillars. Though its surfaces exhibit some saltwater corrosion, this Cob nevertheless displays bold and impressive detail. In all, the coin shows two mintmarks, three dates (one partial), two assayer's initials, and two denominations. The bright gray devices contrast attractively with the dark patina in the fields. A pleasing coin with more eye appeal and originality than its grade suggests. To view all items from the Pat Johnson Collection, click
