BOLIVIA. Cob 4 Reales, 1670-P. Potosi Mint; Assayer Antonio de Ergueta (E). Charles II. PCGS Genuine--Salt Water Damage, EF Details.
KM-25; Cal-513. Weight: 13.75 gms. This darkly toned cob was struck rather off-center. The details that remain, however, are surprisingly sharp and provide the denomination, date, and assayer's mark on the obverse. While both mintmarks are unreadable, the first three letters of the city name remain quite clear on the outer legend. On the reverse, the central castles and lions are pleasantly well-preserved. A piece that offers more than meets the eye at first glance. To view all items from the Pat Johnson Collection, click
