BOLIVIA. Cob 4 Reales, 1733-P. Potosi Mint; Assayer Francisco de Yllana (YA). Philip V. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, VF Details.
KM-30A; Cal-418. Weight: 13.41 gms. From the SCARCE assayer "YA" who used a distinctive monogram to sign his name. The obverse offers two mintmarks, the denomination, the date, and one assayer's monogram. The reverse shows another denomination, full date, and a bold monogram. The surfaces are somewhat corroded and the toning has been affected by cleaning. Close inspection reveals numerous tiny scratches on the surfaces, likely also resulting from restoration attempts. Despite these drawbacks, the coin is one of the better examples of this challenging date and assayer owing to its clear details. To view all items from the Pat Johnson Collection, click here.
