KM-19; Prid-8. Weight: 12.71 gms. Type II countermark on a 1/2 cut Mexico City 8 Reales. This example from Tortola's interesting countermarked series is heavily circulated, as is typical. The crude "TIRTILA" countermark is quite clear and legible due to the deep strike. There is a pleasant warm gray toning on the surfaces with spots of dark inky color along the cut side.
