CHILE. 4 Reales, 1790-So DA. Santiago Mint. Charles IV. PCGS Genuine--Environmental Damage, VF Details.
KM-38; Cal-849. Three-year transitional type with the bust of Charles III, but in the name of Charles IV. This example offers great eye appeal and pleasing detail. Remnants of corrosion on the reverse account for the grade, but the coin is otherwise remarkably intact and spared from the extensive wear that is usually encountered on the type. The obverse displays an attractive portrait of the deceased monarch, the reverse devices are satisfying, and both sides retain bold legends. The surfaces are nicely toned to a mottled pewter gray.
