CUBA. 40 Centavos, 1952. Philadelphia Mint. PCGS MS-65.
KM-25. Struck for the 50th Anniversary of the Republic. A charming commemorative issue with intricate designs that can be fully admired due to its exceptionally light handling. The surfaces present a lustrous sheen with just a hint of light toning that enhances the crisp details. The reverse depicts the ruins of La Demajagua Sugar Factory, where, in 1868, Carlos Manuel de Céspedes liberated his slaves and encouraged them to join his rebellion against Spain, initiating the Cuban War of Independence.
