GUATEMALA. 4 Reales, 1762-G. Guatemala Mint; Assayer Pedro Sanchez de Guzman (P). Charles III. PCGS Genuine--Scratch, Fine Details.
KM-26; Gil-G-4-11; Cal-793. A rather SCARCE date, this example being the only one certified by PCGS. Though well-circulated and exhibiting some unfortunate scratches on its obverse, this 4 Reales piece remains remarkably appealing. All details including the date are clear and distinct, and the surfaces are attractively toned. The reverse is quite well-preserved, with pleasing devices that contrast with the darkly lustrous fields. An attainable example of an elusive Guatemalan pillar minor.
