MEXICO. Cob 4 Reales, ND (1556-98)-Mo. Mexico City Mint. Philip II. PCGS Genuine--Environmental Damage, VF Details.
KM-36; Cal-Type-158 Var. Weight: 13.76 gms. A charming Mexico City Cob of an unlisted variation with the Arabic numeral denomination shown twice, one each side of the central Habsburg shield. While much of the outer legend is cut off due to the compact flan, the reverse displays a bold central cross with castles and lions. A small spot of verdigris corrosion is noted on the rim, accounting for the designation. An appealing example with interesting details. To view all items from the Pat Johnson Collection, click
