MEXICO. Cob 4 Reales, 1631-Mo. Mexico City Mint, Assayer D. Philip IV. PCGS Genuine--Environmental Damage, VF Details.
KM-38; Cal-1059. Weight: 13.36 gms. This Cob is weakly struck and circulated, but retains an identifiable mintmark and the two final digits of the date. There are large areas of flatness on the peripheries, though the shield and cross are well-centered. The surfaces are nicely toned to mottled gray, though there is a large patch of rough black corrosion on the obverse. Despite its flaws, a suitable representative of the date.
