MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1790-Mo FM. Mexico City Mint. Charles IV. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, Unc Details.
KM-107; Cal-951. Bust of Charles III. The obverse of this silver crown has been extensively cleaned, with numerous micro-abrasions visible on the fields. The excellent portrait retains all of its fine detail, however, and the fields gleam with bright luster. The surfaces have retoned to an attractive sunset orange color. The reverse, by contrast, is pleasantly original. Its devices are razor-sharp and minty, its fields exhibit original luster, and it is deeply toned to a dark charcoal gray with hints of iridescence. Despite its shortcomings, this remains a minty and impressive crown. To view all items from the Pat Johnson Collection, click
