MEXICO. Guadalajara. War of Independence. 4 Reales, 1814-Ga MR. Ferdinand VII. PCGS Genuine--Scratch, Unc Details.
KM-102.2; Cal-1039; Ramirez-Ga4.4.5. Variety with 1815 bust and crown type B. An exceedingly attractive and well-preserved Royalist issue. All the most ephemeral features of the monarch's bust, such as the laurel crown, ear, and hair, are finely struck and fresh. The reverse coat of arms with its impressive crown are rendered with satisfying clarity and completeness. The fields abound with luster and the surfaces display gorgeous deep toning with flashy iridescence toward the peripheries. The short scratch on the reverse that accounts for the designation is hardly worthy of mention. To view all items from the Pat Johnson Collection, click here.
