MEXICO. Tlalpujahua. War of Independence. National Congress. 2 Reales, 1814. PCGS Genuine--Environmental Damage, EF Details.
KM-212; Cal-986. This copper minor is crudely struck, as is typical for the issue, and shows spots of rough corrosion throughout the surfaces. The underlying brown patina is quite attractive, however, and the details on both sides are mostly intact and legible, including the date and most of the legends. Despite its shortcomings this fascinating piece serves as a highly collectable example of Insurgency coinage during the Mexican War of Independence.
