KM-196.1. Weight: 13.43 gms. Countermarked on a 1731 Mexico Cob 4 Reales (KM-40). The rather well-struck host displays the mintmark and date on the obverse along with a nicely centered reverse that shows the central cross with the castles and lions in its quadrants. To the right of the bottom castle, the five-petal flower countermark of Sumenep is clearly visible. A lovely example of this interesting type, with pleasing details and deep cabinet toning.
