PERU. Cob 4 Reales, 1735/4-L. Lima Mint; Assayer Joaquin Negron y Colmenares (N). Philip V. PCGS EF-40.
KM-33A; Cal-Type-133. Weight: 13.25 gms. This deeply toned cob displays an intriguing overdate, unlisted in references. The distinct sharp angles of the digit "4" are clearly visible beneath the "5" on the central obverse date. The denomination is also rather sharp, making this a satisfyingly detailed piece despite the peripheral flatness and irregularly shaped planchet. An interesting and quite individual specimen, sure to attract attention from discerning bidders. To view all items from the Pat Johnson Collection, click
