Fonrobert-8920; Medina-79; Herrera-71; Betts-469. Commemorating the proclaiming of Charles as the king. Obverse: Laureate and armored bust right; Reverse: Crowned coat-of-arms of Lima: double eagle with K I (for Karolus [Charles/Carlos] and Ioanna [Johanna/Juana]) and crowns on breast; crowned Pillars of Hercules to left and right. A handsome representative of this stately medal. The surfaces are deeply toned to a matte gray with hints of iridescent color. The elegant bust is well-struck and satisfyingly detailed.
