SPAIN. Cob 4 Reales, 1610-To C. Toledo Mint. Philip III. PCGS Genuine--Environmental Damage, AU Details.
KM-36.4; Cal-836. Weight: 13.50 gms. This Toledo Cob shows the mintmark, assayer, and denomination on its obverse with crisp clarity, along with a satisfyingly complete Habsburg shield. The reverse was struck somewhat off-center, but this means that the entire date appears clearly along with "HISP-" on the outer legend, all above a handsome set of castles and lions. One area of dark corrosion with bits of verdigris extends across part of the rim, accounting for the designation. Despite its shortcomings, a pleasingly detailed example of the type.
