Obverse: three-quarters portrait of Admiral Vernon facing left, holding cane; Reverse: six ships approaching Porto Bello. This impressive medal features a proud image of Vernon and a boldly-struck reverse scene with elaborate detail. The surfaces are toned to a rich umber and preserve some luster in the fields.
