EL SALVADOR. Colon, 1925-Mo. Mexico City Mint. PCGS MS-64.
KM-131. Mintage: 2,000. Struck to commemorate the Quadricentennial of the founding of El Salvador. A highly lustrous and sharply struck near-Gem with vibrant cartwheeling and bold satiny surfaces. Bright silver backdrops mottled russet and magenta overtones on the obverse, while a warm glow of copper-lilac and rich violet iridescence envelops the reverse side. Though a good number of pieces from this RARE emission were saved by collectors, few can boast the originality and eye appeal exhibited here.
Estimate: $300 - $400
