PERU. 8 Reales, 1809-LM JP. Lima Mint. Ferdinand VII. PCGS MS-62.
cf. KM-106.2. Smaller (imaginary) bust type. Though the PCGS insert describes this coin as KM-106.1, it appears to the cataloger that this may actually be KM-106.2, the smaller bust type. Collectors should closely examine the coin and decide for themselves. Regardless, it is a beautiful and original crown with rather consistent steel gray and russet patina on the obverse and a duet of indigo and pumpkin orange colors to be examined on the reverse. Nary a sign of handling is evident, even after thorough rotation under a light, and contact marks are very few and far between for the grade.
Estimate: $500 - $750
