Lec-1; Betts-42. By J. Mavger. Diameter: 41mm. Obverse: Louis XIV bust right; Reverse: Caribbean woman seated on a rock, holding a fleur-de-lis shield, with the shield of Great Britain on the ground. A popular issue struck before the Caribbean island of St. Christopher was renamed to St. Kitts. The brittle bronze planchet split when it was struck, creating an interesting web of cracks across the right side of the obverse.
