Obverse: Bare head right; Reverse: SIGNIS above, RECEPTIS below, S P Q R around, round shield inscribed CL V, with S P / Q R around; SIGNIS above, RECEPTIS below, aquila to left, signum to right. Pleasingly toned and lustrous, this Denarius yields a vibrancy of strike and wholesome details. The noted light scratches do little to dampen the charm of the piece.
