FRANCE. Copper Decime Essai (Pattern), 1848. Paris Mint. PCGS MS-63 Brown.
Maz-1401. This is a Copper Decime struck during the beginning of the Third Republic in 1848. Liberty cap above clasped hands on the obverse. Reverse has a five line inscription. The coin is an exemplary striking with significant red color peeking out upon pleasant brown surfaces. The PCGS holder attributes this Pattern incorrectly as a 5 Franc piece with the wrong Mazard number as well.
