GERMANY. Empire. 1/2 Mark, 1916-A. Berlin Mint. Wilhelm II. NGC MS-68.
KM-17; J-16. Out of the 103 examples graded by NGC, the present coin is listed as the single finest known in their census, and it is easy to see why. Blast white surfaces are mint fresh, while heavy die polishing has resulted in a crisp prooflike contrast between devices and fields. Even under magnification of a high power loupe, the cataloger can spot nary a mark or blemish. Excellent for the perfectionist or registry set collector.
