Zetzmann-4107. By A. Hummel. Obverse: Uniformed bust facing slightly right; Reverse: Soldier standing slightly left, holding rifle and planting flag; canon to left, rising sun in background on the horizon. Obverse fields boast a wonderful pinkish iridescent flash bordered by shimmering sapphire tone at the peripheries. In slight contrast, the reverse shows consistent amber-russet coloration. Under the tone, fields have a flat brilliance that sharply contrasts satiny devices and elevates the design. A wonderfully produced survivor that is an excellent choice for German medal collectors who appreciate fine toning.
