ITALY. Papal States. St. Simon the Apostle (the Zealot) Cast Bronze Medal, ND (ca. 17th-18th Centuries). NEARLY EXTREMELY FINE.
Diameter: 39mm; Weight: 36.53 gms. Possibly after the Roman School, originally from the second half of the 16th Century. Twelve Apostles series. Obverse: Draped bust left; Reverse: Legend in four lines within wreath. Likely a later casting, this charming example does exhibit some scattered, small casting pits and some chasing in the obverse field--both characteristic of the means of manufacture.
Estimate: $60 - $100
