SWITZERLAND. Thurgau Shooting Festival Silver Medal, 1890. NGC MS-63.
R-1250B. Diameter: 45mm. By: H. Bovy. Obverse: Helvetia stands facing right, holding sword and shield to protect Thurgau, who is seated right; Reverse: Coat of Arms over wreath and four guns, legend around. An exceedingly charming medal struck in intense relief, delivering a richness of details that is hard to top. Limited signs of handling consistent for the grade are noted, though this piece retains quite the charm and appeal.
Estimate: $100 - $200
