Koninkrijk NL Wilhelmina (1890-1948) - 1 Gulden 1928 - Design for a new guilder based on ideas by J.C. Wienecke and H. Luns (Sch. - cp. 829bis) - Obv. Bust Wilhelmina to the left with diadem and cloak, signed J.C. Wienecke / Rev. Crowned pointed coat of arms with 19-28 and 1.-G at the bottom / smooth edge, die positions 6 hr - silver-plated 28 mm 9.78 grams - VF - rare - NB Plans were made around 1928 to introduce a new design of the large Dutch coins (see A. Pol in JMP 65/66 (1978/1979) 91-105). A number of designs were later executed by the Firma Begeer. This type with the obverse by J.C. Wienecke is not represented in the relevant literature.
