Arabian Empires - Southern Arabia and East Africa - Qasimid Imams - al-Mahdi Ahmad I (AH1087-1092 / AD1676-1681) - AV Harf, dated AH(10)87, no mint, but would be struck at San'a (A.A1133, KM165; ZENO261968) - Obv: Shia Shahada (the Muslim profession of faith), khalifata haqaa (the Caliph of Truth) / Rev: "al-mahdi li-din allah ahmad b. al-hassan b. al-qasim - Gold 0.47 g. - a.XF, of the utmost rarity, Zaydí gold coins from al-Yaman are rarely encountered and this is the only pre-machine-struck gold issue of the Zaydi Imams. Provenance is South-Saurashtra, which would indicate that it arrived there by coastal sea-trade
