KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III (The Great), 336-323 BC. AR dekadrachm (38,47 g). Babylon mint, struck circa 323 BC. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion skin headdress / ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle and scepter; monogram below throne. Surfaces somewhat corroded, but the portrait is clear and still attractive. A good specimen of the highly sought-after type. Extremely rare., M. Price, Mnemata p. 69.
