India, Kushan Empire, Kidarite Kingdom, period of Vasu Deva III (c.A.D.360-380), slightly degerated style, gold dinar (stater), Gandhara mint, (7.86 g), obv. King (Kidara) standing, head to left, sceptre in left hand, sacrificing with right hand on altar, filleted trident above altar, Brahmi script 'kapana' to right of altar, 'kidara' below arm, rev. goddess Ardoksho seated on throne, holding filleted investiture garland and cornucopiae, to left degenerate legend of Brahmi script 'yasha' in field, (cf.Gobl 615, cf.M.3650, cf.ANS Kushan 2414, cf.Cribb, Kidarites Pl.4, 29). Very fine and very scarce.
