Family Singles: British War Medal 1914-18. 10439 S/Sjt F.B.McDermott. Dental Cps. A.I.F. Impressed.; (Father-in-Law): The St John Ambulance Association, badge in gold (18ct; 11.01g), with suspension loop, engraved on reverse, 'R.T.Clark/No. 41305/L.R.C.P. & S.Ed.'. Two single items, very fine.

The first ex Noble Numismatics Sale 88 (lot 4176), the second ex Noble Numismatics Sale 91 (lot 4272).

Together with a series of letters to Miss Marie Clark from 10439 Frank Bede McDermott, AADS (Australian Army Dental Service) A.I.F. (was engaged to her and later became his wife), as well as a Military Pass for him and his Discharge Certificate; Discharge Certificate for Miss Marion (Marie) Clark, Forage Dept ASC and Transfer to Reserve Certificate and Discharge Certificate for her brother, John Clark, Royal Fusiliers, as well as photos including three of John Clark, two of these in WWI uniform; letter to Mrs R.T.Clarke (sic) expressing sorrow for her loss.

Francis (Frank) Bede McDermott, dentist's assistant, age 34, born at Fitzroy, Vic; Enl.30Mar1916 at Sydney, NSW in Dental Corps; Emb.03Jun1916 as Staff Sgt; TOS AMC 03Aug1916; TOS 35 AADS 18Jan1919; RTA 04Aug1919; Disch.09Nov1919; Married Marie Clark; by 1921 was a surgeon dentist operating from premises at Longueville, Sydney, NSW; Died 20Sep1947 at his residence at Hunter's Hill, Sydney, NSW and survived by wife Marie and children Myee, Peggy and Frank; Buried at Northern Suburbs Cemetery. Entitled to Victory Medal 1914-19.
