Thrace, Maroneia AR Tetradrachm. Circa 189/8-49/5 BC. Head of young Dionysos to right, wearing taenia and ivy wreath / Dionysos standing nude to left, holding bunch of grapes, two spears and cloak; ΔIONYΣ[OY] to right, ΣΩTHP[OΣ] to left, monogram to inner left, monogram to inner right, [MAPΩNITΩN] in exergue. Schönert-Geiss 1129 var. (inner left monogram; V44/R- (unlisted); HGC 3.2, 1556. 15.54g, 33mm, 12h.

Very Fine; weak strike. A rare and interesting variant whereon the engraver appears to have incorrectly incised the inner left monogram.
