INDIA. Kushan Empire. Kanishka I (ca. AD 127-151). AV dinar (19mm, 6.95 gm, 12h). NGC Choice XF 4/5 - 4/5, die shift. Bactria, main mint (probably Balkh), late phase. ÞAONANOÞAO KA-NhÞKI KOÞANO, Kanishka I standing facing, diademed head left, with long beard, wearing round cap with ladder-like brim, flames on shoulder, cloak around shoulders double-clasped at chest with corner folds pointing left and right, over belted tunic, trousers, and boots decorated with flames motif, sword with curved hilt on belt, grounded spear in left hand, sacrificing with right hand over altar to left; dotted border beneath feet / OPΛAΓNO, Orlagno (Verethragna) standing facing, head right, wearing bird headdress and diadem with two ties left, cloak around shoulders clasped at chest over belted knee-length tunic, trousers, and boots, grounded filleted spear in right hand, clasping curved sword hilt with left hand on hip; tamgha to right, dotted border.
