INDIA. Kushan Empire. Huvishka (ca. AD 151-190). AV dinar (19mm, 7.88 gm, 1h). NGC VF 4/5 - 4/5. Kushan standard, Bactria, main mint (probably Balkh), early phase. ÞAONANOÞAO O-OHÞKI KOÞANO, half-length bust of Huvishka left, on mountain top, wearing mustache, heavy sideburns, and prominent wart on cheek, round helmet with crest ornament, twin-pronged forehead ornament, crescent on side, and a jeweled rim, diadem with triangular tie and double ladder-like ribbons to right, and loose-fitting tunic with jeweled collar, flames emanating from right shoulder, club in right hand, sword hilt in left / NANASHAO, Nanashao standing facing, turned right, nimbate head right, spiked hair held by diadem knotted at back with ribbons to left, right knee bent as if taking a step, wearing two jewel earrings, sleeved ankle-length loose fitting robe, transverse scepter with lion protome in right hand at waist, bowl in left, sword with hooked hilt emerging from behind waist at lower left; tamgha with crossbar in right field, dotted border.
